It was a long but fantastic year full of creativity, late nights, take out foods, and a lot of giggles and excitements.
We've had 3 new resident artists moving in, 2 new artists added to our gallery space and had a sponsored event 'Art of Craft' at our gallery plus a few opening nights.
In the midst of that, I managed to create 3 new collections and started teaching semi-private classes at our studio.
To celebrate all our achievements and countless hours we spent to create art and to build our little artist community, we decided to throw a party and ask you to join us help celebrate our second year anniversary on June 2nd.
There are a few people that I'd like to thank for their kindness and support in the past year. First and foremost I'd like to say thank you to my dear friend, the grande artist, Janelle Nadeau, to fit us in her super busy schedule. Janelle, your love and your beautiful smile bring us a lot of joy. Your music transfers me to a world that I honestly didn't know existed.
Here I am trying to catch up with Janelle as quickly as possible, before the crowd came in.
Sheri Radford of Where Vancouver Magazine. Thank you for joining us and help celebrate our anniversary.
Meet my team, the best team I could ever ask for. Melissa and Fiorella. I honestly don't know what I'd be doing without you. I am so grateful for your love and everything you do everyday in our gallery. You made it possible and I am so blessed to call you my friends.
A dear friend to both Darrin and I, Jim Allison. One of the best people I have ever met.
I've had the privilege to get to know these ladies 3 years ago as I'd just started to introduce my Jewellery collections to Vancouver. They gave me a chance and took me under their wings. I am forever grateful.
Reay & Linda MacKay, and Darrin.
Diane, Iris, and my beautiful Sinfor Wong.
Extremely talented artist, Michael Griffin, with his lovely family. I am a huge fan. We have Michael's art in our gallery for a few weeks so make sure you come by to see it. By the way, I fell in love with little Brandon.
Uncle Dave and his partner Marivelle. Love these two.
Rachael Ashe and her partner Boris, two of my favourite people. Rachael is a talented, local paper artist. We have her new collection at our gallery, it is definitely a must see.
My gorgeous friend, Kathi Lawson.
And little Wyli
Another great artist Jasem Qaisi and his stunning friend Alejandra from Mexico. We are planning on having an opening night with Jasem's art in the near future. Stay tuned for updates.
My dear friend Dawn and her cute little girl Sophia
Sabrina and her husband Benoit. Sabrina is a self taught jewelry designer from France and she will start her residency at our studio in mid June. You can see her designs on her website and ollow me on instagram @katamidesigns for all the updates.
My previous students from my semi-private classes. From right to left; Giada, Sarah and her friend Miora. Sarah joined me last year in a few of our classes and quickly recognized her passion for jewellery design. With a little convincing, she decided to apply for Alchimia, the prestigious school of jewellery Design in Florence, Italy. She will start her journey in Italy this September and I can not tell you how proud I am of her.
Just us girls at the end of the night
Last but not least, my love Darrin Pezer. I am forever grateful for your love and passion for me and for my little journey. None of this would've been possible without your kind attention and your support. You created this space for all of us artists to explore our imaginations and you helped me transforming my little passion to a magical being it is today. You are truly the best.
I am currently working on photographing my new collection, Aeme-Stelle. I will have it ready for you next week. I am so thrilled to share the inspiration behind it. Stay tuned by following me on instagram @katamidesigns
Thank you all for joining us.
